The Influence of Teachers on English Learning in Neichu Class论文

Although researches on the influence of teachers in class and after class he a long history both at home and abroad, few researches care about such a special group of "Neichu" class. 240 students from two "Neichu" classes and two common classes in No.66 Middle School in Urumqi are collected as the target students. Based on the previous research achievements, the questionnaire and interviews are used to measure and analyze teachers' influence on students' English learning. After the collection and analysis of questionnaire, the results show that there exists significant difference in teachers' influence between "Neichu" class and common class.

1.Introduction

  In order to narrow the distance of education level between poor areas and developed areas in Xinjiang, and also make the youngsters equally enjoy high quality educational resources, "Neichu" classes were set up in 8 cities in Xinjiang. That is to say, some primary graduating students in the south of Xinjiang can he the chance to study in these eight cities and to share the same teaching materials with local students as long as they pass the "Neichu" class entrance examination. After three years of study in "Neichu" class, if they pass the high school entrance examination, they will he the chance to study in the developed cities; otherwise, they will he to be back to high school in their hometown. Students in "Neichu" class should be paid more attention because they live far away from home and it is difficult for them to integrate into a new environment.
  

2.Methodology

  The participants in the study include 240 students in Grade Eight from Urumqi No.66 Middle School. There are 120 students from "Neichu" class, and 120 students from common class. The instruments used in this study are questionnaire and interviews. All the results are the first-hand data, which is analyzed by SPSS.
  3.The Analysis of Teachers' Influence
  In order to see if there is significant difference between students in "Neichu" class and in common class, ANOVA (Table 4-1) was carried out. From Table 4-1, the analysis of the results shows that the sig. of teachers' influence between common class and "Neichu" class is .0.00(P≤0.05), thus significant difference exists between "Neichu" class and students from common class from the aspect of teachers' influence. Students in "Neichu" class are influenced by teachers seriously.
